Place of detention (2024)
Part of the Search History residency,  shown at Willow Digital Artspace, Groningen/web(NL)

I researched what happens when we access the information streams of a closed detention camp, do we see the realities behind the stories of the detained? Kamp Zeist during the first world war was a place of refuge for belgian refugees, fleeing the war in their homeland. During the proces of research many different depictions of the camp could be found in different archives, some colorful some more grim. Information is ommited, temporary displaced, and or curated in confinement. Therefor being non discriminatory; I started to reconstruct the location, morphed together in a timeless field, to better understand the imaginary of the media at the time.

In the installation one can visit the remains(paper scraps) of an old barracks built at kamp Zeist around 1914, the magical location incorperates missing pieces to be collected by the visitor.
